The hydrologic cycle is very sensitive to changes in temperature, precipitation and evaporation. Studies of the impacts of climate change on the hydrologic cycle point to significant changes to stream flows, lake levels, water quality, ground water infiltration, and patterns of ground water recharge and discharge. In the years to come, there will be increased non-point source runoff due to increased precipitation, wildfires, and soil erosion.
