We are consuming our natural resources at a great speed and brutally. However, we should not forget that we are not helpless in this chaotic environment we live in. It is possible to protect our world and our future by implementing solutions for the sustainability of renewable resources.

Although its important role has not yet been appreciated as it deserves, one of the most important tools for combating the climate crisis is “soil”. Agricultural lands have as critical value as air and water in terms of food security and human health.

According to the sources of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), one-third of the land on our planet has been destroyed in such a way that it cannot produce food sustainably. There are only 60 years of sustainable agricultural land left in the world! The cost of soil loss on arable land totaled $400 billion annually. We lose the topsoil on agricultural lands 10 to 40 times faster than it renews itself. However, with innovative approaches to protect and improve the soil, it is possible to regenerate our soils and to combat climate change by binding carbon to the soil. In our country, it is in our hands to ensure the rapid spread of protective practices such as direct sowing without tillage, which has been used in wheat production since the 90s.
